Crabtree 2014 Holiday Mood Shot The Crabtree & Evelyn 2014 Holiday Collection (My Picks)

The holiday season is the perfect time to travel, especially since nobody’s really going to be at work anymore. But if you, like me, are going to be spending December at home, there’s no better time and place to indulge in the festive mood. This year, the Crabtree and Evelyn 2014 Holiday Collection is heavily inspired by the wanderlust bug that lives in us all. Take note, for you too, can travel to London right in your own home.

Review & Tutorial: The Laneige Sparkling Party 2014 Holiday Collection

DSC 8592new Review & Tutorial: The Laneige Sparkling Party 2014 Holiday Collection

Now take me away.

Hello mid-November! The more each day passes by, the more it’s time to sparkle. The year-end season is always my favourite time of the year because things start mellowing and everything just becomes more relaxed. This is how the entire year should be like!

I got my hands on this collection a day after my company’s disco themed dinner and dance (what a waste, I know) and immediately fell in love. It’s seriously got everything you need in it to sparkle and yet it’s not over the top. Before I dive into the review and let you in on how best to use this, might I just add this little message: Get it while you can!

The Laneige Sparkling Party 2014 Holiday Collection is a cute little box of 2 Water Drop lip tints, 2 glitter nail lacquers and a glitter eyeshadow duo.

The Laneige Sparkling Party box. It closes gently with a magnetic clasp.

When opened, it reveals the goodies inside, plus a tutorial on how you can achieve a day and night look. I love the rose gold foil!

I can’t wait to share this piece of news with you all, especially if you’re a die-hard Urban Decay fan, like I am! The Urban Decay 2014 Holiday Collection is bound to make you go crazy and set hearts a flutter. If you’re looking for gifts for beauty addicts, you’d really do well at Sephora this time.

First up, there’s the Shadow Box, which has got a total of 12 beautiful shades – 9 best selling ones and 3 brand new ones! It needs no new introduction from me, as beauty vlogger Nicole Guerriero already did a great job of that in her video review of the palette. But hey, the violet floral design on the cover is just gorgeous!

Rave & Review: The Sigma Extravaganza Copper Kit Brushes

DSC 7920new Rave & Review: The Sigma Extravaganza Copper Kit Brushes

What is a girl to do when she comes across a heart-melting, brow-upturning collection of the most beautiful brushes she’s ever come across? The Sigma Extravaganza Copper Kit is an assortment of 29 of the brand’s best-selling brushes, complete with a makeover that instantly amps up the glam factor of any girl’s powder room!

I fell in love with these brushes when they launched as part of Sigma’s 5-year anniversary celebrations. Not only are the brushes made with the usual Sigma synthetic bristles (so it’s animal-friendly), they also come in 100% pure copper ferrules atop sleek, black handles. I personally use Sigma brushes on a day-to-day basis and find them to be quite reliable, soft and handy. If you like, you can check out my review of the Sigma Mrs. Bunny Travel Kit.

Review: The Neutrogena Deep Clean Eye & Lip Makeup Remover

DSC 6982new Review: The Neutrogena Deep Clean Eye & Lip Makeup Remover

The very first lesson every girl has learnt in the makeup world is this: Remove it at the end of every day. Ever since we’ve dabbled in the world of foundation, blush and eye colour, we’ve been told how important it is to take it all off again. And so on top of finding that perfect facial cleanser, we also need to now consider makeup removers. Oh, what a chore!

My favourite makeup remover is the Shu Uemura Ultime8 Cleansing Oil, which has made it into my list of favourite beauty items. It’s expensive but every make up maniac must have a good makeup remover! The only thing about this cleansing oil is that it gives me blurred vision during the day, so I sought high and low for a remover specifically for eye makeup.

I wasn’t willing to splurge again on a second makeup remover, so a trip to the local drugstore was sufficient. Thankfully, I found the Neutrogena Deep Clean Eye & Lip Makeup Remover!

Here’s where you can purchase it!

Art class would’ve been much more fun if all the brushes and paints came in liquid eyeliner form. But nope, no such luck. As far as my “talents” go, I suppose I will probably never amount to anything more than a edit-with-filters-and-Snapseed type of Instagrammer. But hey, I can always draw on my own face!

FOTD: Featuring the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette

Hey guys! I finally got down to filming my very first FOTD video! It’s taken me 2 years to finally do this and I really don’t know why it took so long. If you’ve been following the blog, you’ll know I recently got the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette and I just can’t seem to put it down whenever I need a good neutral look.

Here’s the video, but I must warn you that not everything I did was filmed. It’s after all my first time doing this and it was quite spontaneous, actually. Hope you like it, and please subscribe to my new channel!

Review: A Couple of Percy & Reed Hair Products

DSC 4129new Review: A Couple of Percy & Reed Hair Products

Just some Percy & Reed hair products.

They say you can’t always have your cake and eat it. I’m not sure I buy that. Actually, I’d like that cake, some fudge on top of it and a generous scoop of vanilla bean ice cream to go with. Oh, and let’s have some lovely rose macarons too! And hope that the wind doesn’t blow in the wrong direction while we’re at it. Because, you know, the wind makes all our styling efforts go to waste. Like how the rain does.

But that doesn’t mean we can’t style our hair, or try our best to make every day a good hair day. I gave some Percy & Reed hair products a try and really like what they did for me!

Review: The Mary Kay TimeWise Body Targeted-Action Toning Lotion

DSC 4139new Review: The Mary Kay TimeWise Body Targeted Action Toning Lotion

The Mary Kay TimeWise Body Targeted-Action Toning Lotion.

Cellulite is the bane of most of our existence. The uneven layers of fat under the skin. Ever wondered why the men don’t get it?

There are several reasons women are more prone to getting orange skin, and one of them is that our collagen structure is weaker than that of our male friends. Collagen is a connective tissue that helps to hold fat together, so the stronger it is, the better the fat sticks together, and the less uneven they will be. For guys, their collagen looks like a criss-cross wire fence. Something like this:

ASOS Cami in Cage Print, available HERE.

Whereas for us women, our collagen looks something like this:

ASOS Striped Top Review: The Mary Kay TimeWise Body Targeted Action Toning Lotion

ASOS Blouse in Stripe Print, available HERE.

Now that, my dear readers, is something no amount of genetic modification can change, so we might as well submit to fate. Yet, I always say that if I could choose whether to be male or female, I’d surely choose the latter because, hey, how else are we going to have fun without all that clothes, makeup and shoes!

So since cellulite is in-built for us dainty fellas, obviously we should do something about it (unless we don’t really care). I’ve tried cellulite busting creams and the latest on my dresser is the Mary Kay TimeWise Body Targeted-Action Toning Lotion. I had previously tried it when I was given a sample tube, and I fell in love with the results that I went ahead and bought a full-sized one from a random independent consultant I found online.
